Alfred "Al" Walter Wisniewski

On January 7, 2024 Alfred "Al" Walter Wisniewski passed away at the age of 93; Beloved husband of Geraldine J. Wisniewski (nee Ormanno); Loving father of Susan Hartmann and her late husband Carl; Roxanne Elmore and husband Scott and René Donohue and husband Francis; Cherished grandfather of Justin Hartmann and wife Jacklyn, Blake Koslosky, Chad Koslosky and wife Amanda, Alex Koslosky, Sean Donohue and Ryan Donohue; Dear great grandfather of Nate and Cora Hartmann and Julianna and Camden Koslosky. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Al served in the Coast Guard for nine years from 1948 – 1957, where he was stationed on the “Nobska Light” lighthouse in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.   When he resumed civilian life he turned his artistic talents into a career.

Al was an active member of the Essex community.  He started his business “Classic Art Service” which served the community for 30 years; and was also a member of the Optimist Club of Essex.  Through his business, Al introduced the idea of a birth announcement by way of a lawn prop designed as a stork that could be rented by local families.

His talents extended beyond commercial artwork.  He was an avid gardener, and eventually became fascinated with the art of Bonsai.  He later joined The Baltimore Bonsai Club where he experienced a new hobby alongside new friends, followed by many adventures.

He and his wife were married for over 70 years to which they settled in the Hawthorn community where they raised their three daughters.

In the later years of his life, Al enjoyed time with his family and spent many blissful days in his yard tending to his garden and koi ponds.  He shall be known as a devoted husband and loving father of three, along with being a grandfather of six; and great grandfather of four.

A private cremation cremation was held. Arrangements by Bruzdzinski Funeral Home.
