David Karl Hirsch
April 16, 1975 to May 9, 2023
David was a very kind and caring individual. His life was dedicated to the service of others. He attended grade school at St. Clare’s in Essex and went on to Archbishop Curley High School. He became an accomplished trumpet player earning “ALL State” recognition in three straight years. During this time he earned the Rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated with a Nursing degree from The Catholic University of America and passed his Nursing License exams with high scores. He went to work for John Hopkins Hospital before joining the ranks of traveling nurses where he traveled the US honing his nursing skills. He returned to Baltimore and took a job as Nurse Supervisor at Maryland General Hospital before joining Johns Hopkins Home Health Care as director of Home Infusion Unit. He earned post graduate Master Degrees in “Business Administration” and “The Science of Nursing” from Phoenix University. He was a very knowledgeable Nurse who had an intimate understanding of the profession and the use of medicines, processes and procedures for treating patients. He was very compassionate in his interaction with patients and always prioritized their well-being. He valued his employees, provided training when needed and was an excellent role model. He was on the front lines during the Covid Pandemic, designing and setting up Infusion suites for the State of Md.
David loved to travel visiting many places throughout the world. He loved the beach, good food and cooking new dishes. He marveled in the spirit of the Christmas season and thoroughly enjoyed immersing himself in it. --- But most of all he loved and cherished being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Trudy, and Bruce, his two brothers, Matthew and his wife Tracy and Timothy and his wife Tasha, and his three nephews, Ethan, Justin and Lucas. He was predeceased by his niece Victoria and a nephew Nicholas.
David loved his niece and nephews more than anything so in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org.
