Donald Cecil Johnson

Beloved husband of Barbara Ann Johnson.Devoted son of Edith Johnson and the late Johnnie Johnson. Loving father of Ben Peace and his wife Jean, Stacey Peace Rosa and her husband Tom, Mark Hewitt, Sarah Johnson and Mary Johnson. Dear grandfather of Kylie Hewitt, Eric Giacobbe, Brycen Vance, Grayson Rosa, Hadley Rosa and Olivia Peace. Also survived by his brother Jerry Johnson, in laws Russ and Cookie Spangler, brother and sister in laws: Wendy and Butch Foy and Terry and John Capps, Jr. his nieces, nephews and many other loving family members.

Donald grew up in the Penwood Terrace neighborhood near Ft. Howard, Md. He graduated from Sparrows Point High School and started his 38 year career at Bethlehem Steel. He also enjoyed 30 years at the Frontier Town Campground as a seasonal resident in Ocean City, Md. Many family memories there will be cherished by all his children and grandchildren. Donald also enjoyed fishing and going out on his boat there. He had a love of fixing up old cars and was still working on his ‘69 Camaro and ‘86 Corvette. Donald looked after his mother who lived across the street from him and Barb, especially after his father passed away in 1997. He was a wonderful son. Donald and Barb shared 32 years of marriage. All in all, Donald was a fun-loving devoted family man and he will be greatly missed by all.

Friends may call at  the family owned Bruzdzinski Funeral Home P. A. at 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex at route 702 (beltway exit 36) on Sunday June 16th, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service on Sunday June 16th, 2019 at 8:00 PM. Private cremation to follow.
