Dorothy Eleanor Goeller

Dorothy “Dot” Eleanor Goeller, at age 94, passed away on April 22, 2025 in Middle River, MD. Born on November 6, 1930 to Norma and Roland Fowler, she was raised in Baltimore. Dot attended Clara Barton High School. At age 16, she married the love of her life, the late Kenneth Goeller, Sr. They spent their days on the water on the “Dottie G” and raised their four children in the Baltimore area. Dot was a stenographer by trade and worked as a medical secretary. She also worked as an administration assistant at Space Telescope and Loyola College. Her and Ken settled at their shore home on the Middle River, where many family memories were made. Following retirement, she loved volunteering her time as a school librarian at St. Michaels, Seton High School and St. Joseph Fullerton where her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren attended.

Dot lived a long, full, and healthy life. She had a passion for gardening and bird watching. Dot also enjoyed crocheting blankets and was an avid duckpin bowler for much of her life. She had a love for her Schnauzers, Cleo and Sassy. Most of all, Dot loved spending time with her family. She cherished tradition and hosted every family holiday. She enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren swim and ski in the river and talking with her friends at the shore. Dot had a special way of showing kindness, compassion, and love to everyone she met and will be greatly missed.

Dot is survived by son Ken Goeller Jr. (Charlene) and daughters Christine Dawson (late Dale), and Stacey King (Christopher); grandchildren Jamie Goeller, Jessica Speaker (Jesse), Jeannette Matkowski (John), Allyson Kuhn (Brooke), Paige King, Zachary King, and Andrew King; eleven great grandchildren; four sisters; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ken and daughter Linda.

A private cremation was held. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 17th from 3-4 pm with a memorial service beginning at 4 pm at Bruzdzinski Funeral Home, 1407 Old Eastern Ave, Essex, MD 21221. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Dot’s memory to The Chesapeake Bay Foundation or the National Audubon Society.
