Elysa Reed

Dorrence “Elysa” Reed, 80, passed away unexpectedly, February 24, 2025. Born on, March 14, 1944, in Chicago, IL. Elysa dedicated her life to her family, friends and beloved pets.

Elysa was known as selfless, kind hearted and generous. She found joy in giving and putting a smile on those dear to her. After an early career in banking, her focus shifted to soccer fields, baseball diamonds and wrestling mats where she spent many days, nights and weekends cheering on and encouraging her sons. As Den Mother to Cub Scout Pack 356, Elysa served as a mentor and a teacher to many young individuals in the community.

She is preceded in death by her mother Dorrence M. (Burns) Leech, beloved husband, Norman Reed Sr.. Her loving family members include children Alan, David & Norman Jr., sister, Susan Yowell, niece/goddaughter Gabriela and nephew Nicolas.

The legacy of Elysa's loving affection will remain with those whose lives she touched. She will be dearly missed.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 28th at 1:30pm at the Oak Lawn Cemetery (7225 Eastern Ave, Baltimore, MD 21224)
