Suddenly, on August 1, 2014 Frank A. Melka passed from this earth. Beloved husband of the late Gladys Louise Melka (Nee Drumm); Loving father of Viki Ford-Strange and her husband Amory, Teresa A. Cohen, David F. Melka and his wife Lisa, Jospeh C. Christopher Melka and his wife Denise and the late Gary T. Melka. Also survived by his loving grandchildren Michael, Jason, Aaryn, Jill, Hayley, Allison, Justin, Tyler and great grandchildren Makayla, Ryan, Amelia, Julia, Logan and Conner.
Frank Melka, who just turned 90 years old was a current resident at the Lighthouse Senior home in Essex, Maryland. He attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School, and was a long time member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He worked almost 40 years and retired from Martin Marietta in Middle River. During WWII Frank proudly served in the 809th Tank Destroyer Battalion from 1944 to 1946 in the US Army.
Friends may call at the family owned Bruzdzinski Funeral Home P.A. 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex at Route 702 (beltway exit 36) on Tuesday from 12 PM to 1 PM. Funeral service Tuesday at 1 PM. Entombment at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.
