George Grady Shipley

On September 19, 2014 George Grady Shipley died peacefully at the age of 95; Beloved husband of Jane F. Shipley; Loving father of Karen Lyn Shipley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  George was a World War II veteran and was a barber for 30 years at his shop on Back River Neck Road in Essex. His main hobby was gardening but he was also skilled in landscaping and carpentry. Many called George “one in a million” because of his kindness and gentle ways. He was born in Bluff City, Tennessee and was the third of eight children, all of whom preceded him in death. George’s first wife Ellouise died in 1975.
Friends may call at the family owned Bruzdzinski Funeral Home P.A.  1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex at Route 702 (beltway exit 36) on Monday from 3 -7 PM. Funeral service Tuesday at 11 AM.  Interment at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.
