John Arthur Bell, 89, of White Marsh died of congestive heart failure on May 10, 2014.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late John E. and Hilda R. (Maben) Bell. He was married to his beloved wife, Jacqueline R. (Myers) Bell, for 69 years. John was a proud World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard. A lifelong trap shooter, he was a member of both Carney Rod & Gun Club and Loch Raven Skeet and Trap Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife are son Michael L. Bell and daughter-in-law Susan of Reisterstown; daughter Judith B. Hilt and son-in-law Jay of Lancaster, PA; grandson Thomas W. Smith, Jr. of Wrightsville, PA; granddaughter Cheryl L. Smith of Columbia, PA; great-granddaughter Rylee M. Smith of Wrightsville, PA; daughter Cathy L. Lightner and family; and sister Margaret J. Donohue. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles F. Bell and Edwin E. Bell and sister, June B. Falise.

He was a devoted husband and father, caring, generous and quick with a joke. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

Friends may call at family owned Bruzdzinski Funeral Home PA 1407 Old Eastern Avenue Essex at route 702 (beltway exit 36) on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM.  Funeral services on Thursday at 8 PM.  Friends are invited to gather at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Garrison Forest 11501 Garrison Forest Road  Garrison Forest, Maryland 21117 on Wednesday May 21 from 9:45 to 9:55 AM.  Graveside Services will be conducted at 10 AM.  Memorials in his name to Boys Town, P.O. Box 145-Memorial, Boys Town, NE 68010 will be appreciated.
