The Day God Took You Home
In tears we saw you sinking,
And watched you pass away.
Our hearts were nearly broken,
We wanted you to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping,
So peaceful, free from pain,
How could we wish you back with us,
To suffer that again.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

Juanita (Nita) was a woman with great character whose humor and friendly spirit brought out the finest in those around her. The influence her life had on others is a flame that will burn brightly forever. She left so much good with every soul she touched, and made you feel like part of her family even if you had just met. Whether you were visiting for dinner, playing cards or playing board games, you were guaranteed to have a good time, filled with smiles, laughter and joy. Her innocent giggle when you caught her cheating at ‘Scrabble’ or trying to make up new rules for a card game was sure to make for a great time; those times, among many others, will be cherished by her loved ones for eternity.
Nita went to be with her husband our Lord on August 31st, surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her home. She was survived by her son Danny Jones, and his wife Tammy; her granddaughter Jennifer Taylor and fiancée John Vanklei, along with her great-grandson, Clay; her late granddaughter’s husband Jamie Filiaggi and her three great-granddaughter’s Lauren, Kendall, and Madison. She was also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her kind, sweet heart will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. In lieu of a service, Nita asked that donations be made to the “Friends-R-Family Foundation” or “St. Jude Children’s Hospital”.
