Linda (Baumgart) King

Suddenly, January 27,2017, Linda Baumgart King, beloved wife of 35 years to Max Kenneth King. Devoted mother to Wendy King Stallings and her husband Shannon. Devoted daughter of Nellie Baumgart Reavis (nee Marsh) and the late Walter Frederick Baumgart. Loving sister of the late Walter Baumgart. Beloved grandmother of Tanner King, Tristan Stallings, Toby Stallings and Tori Stallings. Also survived by her brother in law  Brian J. Kingmany, cousins, "nieces" and "nephews", and dear friends.

Linda was well known throughout the Bowley's Quarters community. She was a life member of the Bowley's Quarters Volunteer Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary. She served as a substitute teacher for over two decades at Seneca Elementary, Martin Boulevard Elementary, Oliver Beach Elementary, and Orems Elementary. She was loved by many in the school system. She was a part of the PTA and volunteered at Seneca for her grandchildren's functions. She was well known and well liked throughout the school community.

Linda spent her entire life as a servant to God at Middle River Baptist Church. She was active as a child and teenager in the youth programs. As an adult, she was in the adult choir, taught Sunday School, and helped each year with Vacation Bible School. She served on many committees at the church as well. One of her favorite things was being one of the leaders of the Children's choir in recent years. She adored the children, and loved to hear them sing. She also enjoyed the time she got to spend every week with her grandchildren at church. She truly knew what it was to be a servant, and she did it well.

Linda was blessed with 35 years of marriage to her husband. She enjoyed traveling with him to sight-see on road trips up and down the east coast and the mid-west. The most recent trip being two weeks ago, to Hilton Head South Carolina. She adored Max and loved him so dearly. She also loved her daughter Wendy, and would talk about her often to her friends and family. She was proud of Wendy's accomplishments in her career, and would "brag" about her often.

Linda loved her mother Nellie fiercely. She was the caregiver, shopper, chauffeur, appointment maker, house cleaner, and everything in between. She did everything for her mother with a loving heart. If there was a picture next to the word "Selfless" in the dictionary, you would see Linda there.

The four grandchildren really made Linda glow. Grammie "B" loved them so much. She carried photo albums of her grandchildren in her purse everywhere she went, enjoying showing them off to friends. She made every single soccer, baseball, and basketball game she could. She often took Tori to dance and was at every recital. Her love for her grandchildren was returned to her ten-fold. They loved going to Grammie's house each week, sometimes two or three times a week for sleepovers. She always wanted the best for each of them, and did everything she could to help them. Tori loved spending shopping days with her Grammie. Tristan always kept her on her toes with his personality. Toby could always make her laugh with his wit and sense of humor. Tanner was her best friend. They had a unique and special relationship that was unlike any other. Although she is gone from this earth, she will live on thru the grandchildren.

Linda was one of those people that did everything and anything for everyone, but never asked for anything in return. She always made little presents for each holiday, taking time to pick meaningful things out for each individual person. She always had an open ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, and words of wisdom for those who sought her for comfort and guidance. She never liked her picture being taken, but was the one behind the camera mostly.

Linda was truly an unsung hero in every sense of the term. There will always be a huge hole in our hearts with her gone, but living like she did is one way to honor her memory. Be kind, don't judge, be gentle, be funny, enjoy life, hug often, tell the ones you love that you do daily, and spend as much time with family as you can.

Remember her in her good times.....remember the stories......remember the love. Linda is now a guardian angel for us all....
