Mary Dorothy (Blankenship) Andrews

Mrs. Mary “Dot” Dorothy Andrews, age 88, peacefully passed away in the Nash General Hospital, on March 24, 2012.
Dot was an active member of the Englewood Methodist Church in Rocky Mount. She moved to Rocky Mount from Baltimore in 1987 to fulfill her retirement and be near relatives in the area. Her loves were her family, church, friends, baking, and caring for children.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Carol Ann Tannenbaum.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years Charles Andrews Sr. of Nashville, three daughters: Mary Lou and husband Marty Sloane of Cambridge, MD, Jo Ann and husband Jerry Fullbright of Baltimore, MD, and Beverly and husband Gary Kappel of Nashville, NC. Son Charles Andrews Jr. and wife Terri of Fort Worth, TX, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Dot’s life will be held Tuesday March 27, 2012 in the Chapel of Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount at 2 PM with the Rev. David Benson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday night from 7 until 9 PM and also Tuesday one hour before service.
The interment will be held later in Bel Air, MD.
