Mary Theresa “May” Soper (nee Lyons) of Baltimore, passed away on February 2, 2022 at the age of 93 and was a 1946 graduate of Seton High School. May is survived by her husband of 74 years, Calvin Soper, Sr. and her five children: Calvin Soper, Jr. and his wife Kathy, Richard Soper, Sr. and his wife Pam, Patricia Ceryes, Margaret Lookingbill and Phillip Soper. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kimberly McCaig, Richard Soper, Jr., Steven Soper, Brandy Hardee, Amy Graziano, Kevin McCadden, Joseph Lookingbill, Craig Ceryes, Brent Ceryes, Christopher Soper and Jeremy Soper, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. A sister, Julia Koch and a brother, William Lyons, both of Yakima, Washington, also survive her, along with many nieces, nephews, and Sister in-laws. May was pre-deceased by her brother, Benjamin Lyons, Jr., her son-in-law Joseph Lookingbill, Jr. and her grandson Keith McCadden.
Friends may call at family owned Bruzdzinski Funeral Home P. A. at 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex at route 702 (beltway exit 36) on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1704 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex, MD. 21221 on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 10 AM. Interment Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.
