Michael Dominique Riley

Michael Dominique Riley was born to Antoinette D Riley and James W Riley on January 18, 1961 in Baltimore, Maryland. From the hospital he went home to four much older siblings that were ten to fifteen years older (Bob, John, Kitty, and Jim). When Michael was two, his father deserted the family and never returned. Michael never knew his father. However, having a very strong-willed mother and four loving siblings, he grew up in a very close-knit family, and he became a very smart, talented, and just an all-around great guy, who absolutely everybody liked and loved.

Michael attended Middlesex Elementary, Stemmers Run Junior-High, and Kenwood Senior-High Schools in the Middlesex Area in Baltimore County, Maryland. He was a good athlete, musically- and mechanically-inclined, as well as very good at mathematics. He graduated from Kenwood in 1979 and enlisted in the United States Army for four years. He served both stateside and overseas, in Germany, as a Security-Communications Specialist. After Michael was discharged from the Army, he attended college in both Maryland and Ohio, and in 1989, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Sciences. After college, he became an Information-Technology Systems Developer with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in both Maryland and, later, in Colorado. Michael remained with the USDA until retirement.

Michael met the love of his life, Linda, in 1983, and they married on August 10, 1996 in Howard County, Maryland. They were happily married until Linda’s death on January 2, 2024. In 2022, Michael had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. On June 8, 2024, we lost our beloved baby brother, Michael…a mere five months after Linda’s death, when Michael succumbed to a cardiac arrest, while at the hospital.

Michael is predeceased by his adoring mother Antoinette. He is survived by the four loving siblings (Bob, John, Kitty, and Jim), who welcomed him to the family in 1961, who helped to raise him to be the fine person he was, and who kissed their baby brother a final goodbye; he was only 63 years old.

The hearts of Michael’s extended family and friends are hurting beyond words.
