Bill was born in Sparta, NC on November 21, 1932.  Following graduation from Piney Creek High School in 1951, he served 4 years in the United States Navy.  Bill married the love of his life, the late Vera McGrady in 1954.  After 30 years, he retired from CSX in 1994, as a Senior Computer Programmer.  Bill's greatest passion was being pastor of New Hope Baptist Church for nearly 40 years.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and fellowshiping with his church members.  Bill devoted his life to serving God and lived his testimony everyday.  His generous spirit was felt by everyone he touched.  He always thought about others by helping anyone in need without expecting anything in return.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Vera and his daughter ,Teresa.  He is survived by his son, Bill and his wife Cindy and his daughter Robin and her husband Steve.  Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may come to Bruzdzinski Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 5 to 8 PM.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 11AM at New Hope Baptist Church, 624 Eastern Avenue, Essex, with internment at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church.
