Patrick Louis Malec, resident of Essex, Maryland died peacefully on December 14th, 2019 at the age of 77 surrounded by his loving family.

Patrick “Pat” Malec was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 21, 1942. He graduated from Kenwood High School and worked as a Laboratory Supervisor for FMC Corporation until he retired. Although Pat was somewhat of a ladies’ man until his death, he remained loyal to the love of his life, Beatrice “Dale” who was always in his heart. Together they had 5 children, Patrick Joseph, Sherri Lynn, Tina Marie, and twins, Joedy Ann and Jacqueline Ann.

Pat was a devoted father and provider for his family. He often worked two or more jobs to support his five children whom he solely raised. Pat was a spiritual man and served as an altar boy while growing up in the Canton area of Baltimore City. He raised his children in the Catholic church and every Saturday evening one could see Pat piling his children into the car and heading off to St. Clare’s Church in Essex for evening mass.

In the little time he had to himself, Pat liked to work on automobiles. He was mechanically inclined, and you could always find a few old cars in his yard with Pat under the hood, tinkering or fixing something. In addition to mechanics, Pat also liked dabbling in chemistry, gardening, collecting coins, playing cards with his grandkids, and going for drives in the country.

Pat is survived by his five children, twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and his sister Joanne. He is preceded in death by Dale, the love of his life, his parents, and grand-daughter.

The family invites Pat’s many friends and family to pay their respects at the family owned Bruzdzinski Funeral Home P.A. at 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex at route 702 (beltway exit 36) on Thursday, December 19th, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM. A Catholic Funeral Service officiated by Pat’s cousin, Father Thomas Gills, will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 20th at 11:00 AM. Internment at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Dundalk, Maryland.
