Rita F. Wolfe
March 7, 1957 - January 8, 2024
On March 7, 1957 Rita Wolfe was born. The youngest child of Thelma and Bobby Hutson, and the little sister of Gary Hutson.
Rita attended Lansdowne Elementary school, and graduated from Lansdowne High School. Rita was a good student and a wonderful friend. Rita was raised as a Baptist, and was extremely involved in the church where her dad was the minister. Rita taught Sunday school and attended services with her family.
Rita graduated and went to work at Catonsville Community College in the business office. She did accounts receivable, and was beloved by her co-workers. Rita took her job seriously, but you could always find her laughing or making other people laugh, and her lotion filled pig was always close at hand. After all, she had the softest hands in the world.
Rita married her husband in 1990, and they built a house together in Halethorpe, MD. That house quickly became a home that was always filled with love, laughter, and the people she loved. Rita loved fiercely, and when she loved someone, she loved with her whole heart. Everywhere she went, she made a friend, and if you were lucky enough to be in her bubble, you could count yourself one of the lucky ones.
Rita enjoyed bowling, golfing, bingo, camping, and chasing fire trucks and police cars with wreckless abandonment. She also was an avid scrapbooker, was always up for a few hours at the casino, and could shop like it was her full time job.
When the Ravens came to Baltimore, she began to bleed purple immediately! She loved her Orioles as well, and could often be found at both of their games, or yelling at the tv screen at home. Like everything else she did, she rooted them on with passion.
When Rita left the college, she went on to have another brilliant career with Keystone. Rita retired after having spent 20 years at the college, and 20 years at Keystone.
Traveling with her husband in their RV was also something that she loved to do. They traveled to Myrtle Beach several times a year and her beloved puppies, Lexi and Hannah, were able to travel with them. They loved traveling, and the islands were some of their favorite places to go.
Rita had a life jam packed with Jesus, adventure, love and joy.
On January 8, 2024 Rita was called home, where she is healthy, happy, and reunited with those who passed before her. Rita passed away at home surrounded by her family and friends.
