Robert Nelson Bolek

On July 31, 2013, Robert Nelson Bolek, Lifelong resident of Baltimore, Retired from the Baltimore City Police Department after 26 years of service. Served in the US Air Force for 4 years and was stationed in Rabat, Morocco, and Omaha Nebraska also worked for almost 20 years for the downtown Partnership. Son of Eva Coffin and Charles Bolek. He is the  beloved husband of Rosalyn Bolek; devoted father of Dawn Boyd ( Shannon), Lisa Fedorka ( Bruce), Amy Gutberlet ( Dave), Robin Poling, step- father of  Shannon Gilliam, Stephen Gilliam and Stephie Kearney; dear brother of Mary Jane Bolek (Larry Tolbert), Penny Bolek ( Cathy Walkovic), Ann Neiderauer ( Skip) and the late Charles Bolek ( Sandy).  Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 8 nieces and nephews.


Friends may call at the family owned Bruzdzinski Funeral Home at 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex at Route 702 (beltway exit 36) on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm.  The family will receive friends at Emmanuel Lutheran Church  929 Ingleside Avenue Catonsville, Maryland 21228 on Tuesday from 9 to 10 am.  A Home Going Service will be held at 10 am. Following the service a gathering will occur at Arbutus Volunteer Fire Dept. Hall, 5200 Southwestern Blvd, Arbutus MD 21227.  A private burial will take place in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery on Wednesday.
