Ronald Dale Cloud
July 4, 1946 - December 24, 2024
My wonderful grandfather passed away on December 24, 2024. He was such a wonderful, kind, and funny man. I would not be the person I am today if it wasn’t for my Poppie who raised me. He has always been such an understanding person who gave the absolute best advice especially when you really needed it. I will never forget all our adventures and how he showed up for everything! I love him so much and I will miss him dearly.
Ronald Dale Cloud was born in Hillsville, Virginia, on July 4th, 1946. He was raised in Middle River, Maryland. He attended Middle River Middle School, and Ronald attended and graduated from Overlea High School. After graduating Ron enlisted in the Navy. He served in the Navy for 26 years. After being discharged, he started his job at BGE Utilities and Ronald continued to work for BGE. Ronald retired from BGE Home in 2006.
Ronald was a very important member of our community. He was a very present member of Peninsula Baptist Church. He attended church every Sunday and went to Bible study every Wednesday. Ronald had a huge impact on his church’s food bank, he would always help and deliver the food. Ronald was also a very important member of the PTA at Seneca Elementary when his granddaughter attended the school. He was a huge part of the flower sale at the school. He would always bring all the flowers and help set everything up with the other PTA members. He had a huge impact on Seneca, everyone always loved him so much. Ronald was also a member of the Lions Club for years; he always enjoyed the time he spent there. Ronald and his granddaughter Faith Inskeep were members of the Marshy Point Center Nature Club for years. Ronald always loved helping others around him.
Ronald was a very adventurous man, he always loved to go on hikes and kayaking. He loved going on drives to look at nature and go places he had never been before. Anyone who knew Ron could tell you he was one of the funniest guys you could ever meet. He always had so many stories to tell about his life and he was such a great storyteller. Ron had such a kind heart and loved his family and friends dearly. One thing about him that will forever be remembered is his laugh, it was contagious. You could not help but be happy when you were around him.
Ronald had such a great life, and he was such a loved man. His late wife Mary Jane Cloud was such an important person to him he loved her dearly, who passed away back in 2021. He had two wonderful stepdaughters Renee Hammel and Gabrielle Inskeep. Ronald had 2 grandchildren who he loved more than anything, Mason Snow and Faith Inskeep. Ronald was the late son of Lassie and Kermit Cloud. Ron had a younger brother Gary Cloud who passed away at the age of 73.
Ronald's family wants him to know they would not be as strong as they are to this day without him. He showed his family how to become good and successful people and most importantly to never give up. We all loved him so much and will miss him for an eternity. His family wants him to know how much they appreciated him and everything he did for them his entire life. He was the best father and grandfather out there. We will all forever be grateful for the impact he had on our lives. Once again, we love you so much Poppie.
