Steve Norris Szymanowski, 56, went home to the Lord on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

Steve was born on October 16, 1967, in Baltimore Maryland, the son of the late Norris and Paula Szymanowski.

Steve is survived by his wife of almost 25 years Kristy Shannon (nee Kemp), daughter Emma Genevieve, son John Kale and sister Kathryn Banks (Rick); many nieces and nephews that loved their Uncle Steve; friends, neighbors, and the entire Baltimore City Police Southeastern District that all loved him.

Steve was a graduate of Patterson High School and then afterward began his dedicated 33-year career serving the Southeast Baltimore community with the Baltimore City Police Department.

Steve was a loving husband and devoted father who ensured that his wife and children came first, never missing a game, a performance, or any school event. Steve loved comic books, Star Wars, motorcycles, and roller coasters but above all he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The family would like to thank everyone who has supported Steve through his fight with brain cancer and know that each call, visit, meal, or prayer meant so much to him.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 29 at Victory Villa Baptist Church, 75 Chandelle Road, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Victory Villa Baptist Church on Friday, August 30 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a dinner to celebrate Steve’s life.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Victory Villa Baptist Church where he lovingly served or Fallston Animal Rescue Movement (FARM) in honor of Steve will be accepted.
