Timothy P. Anderson PhD

April 7, 1949 - November 21, 2021

Timothy Paul Anderson answered our Lord's call and went to his eternal rest on Sunday, November 21, 2021. His loving, devoted wife Kathleen will miss Tim every day. Their true belief in the resurrection of the body and life everlasting gave them strength during the many days of Tim's illness.

Tim was born to Charles and Elizabeth Anderson on April 7, 1949. He was welcomed into this world by his big brother Charlie and his grandparents Edward and Kizzie Q. Murphy. Several years later his sister Judy was born and completed the Anderson family.

Education was always emphasized by his parents. If the children had a question that was not easily answered, they were encouraged to look it up in the encyclopedia. The importance of knowledge impressed each child. As young adults all three siblings achieved degrees in higher education. Tim received a B.A. and Masters Degree from North Carolina State University.

The Ph.D degrees he worked so hard to achieve were conferred on him from the University of Michigan. Tim's wonder and learning about the world continued all his life. He surprised many people who were from other countries by his in-depth knowledge of their native lands.

Tim was honored to be a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, having achieved the 32°, Jephthah Lodge, No. 222, Essex, Maryland.

Tim and Kathy traveled much of the United States in their motorhomes. All four of their Shilohs tagged along on many of those vacations. Together Tim and Kathy visited approximately 30 national parks. They were always in awe of the grandeur of our Lord's creations.

When travel by RV was no longer possible, they started renting cabins. Luray, VA and Skyline Drive were favorite destinations.

Tim and Kathy's 41 years of married life was built on their love of God and their deep, abiding love for each other. Mutual planning for the important steps in their lives was always essential. Their happiness was enhanced by so many true friendships and folks who truly cared for them both.

Tim, you will be missed by many, but always thought of with a smile.

A. at 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex at route 702 (beltway exit 36) on Sunday, November 28th, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services on Monday, November 29th, 2021 at 12:00 PM. Interment Holly Hill Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: The Salvation Army or Santa Claus Anonymous.
