Valerie McKee Billings, 48, of Middle River, Maryland died August 8, 2012 at home surrounded by her family.
Val was born July 2, 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland; she was the loving daughter of Ivan and Henrietta McKee.
Val had a strong will for living and enjoying life. She took much pleasure in creating a peaceful home for her and her husband, Dwayne. Val and Dwayne were married July 2, 1995. To her husband she was his “everything”. Together they liked listening to classic rock music and occasionally going to rock concerts. She enjoyed preparing traditional holiday meals for her family. Val also liked bike riding with her husband and walking her dog, Heaven.  She also loved spending time and playing with her grandchildren.
Val is survived by her devoted husband, Dwayne Billings; two daughters, Nicole McKee of Baltimore, Maryland, and Tabitha Lynch and her fiancé, Jason White of Brooklyn, Maryland; sister Deborah Hartman and husband Jeff, of Westminster, Maryland; brother Larry McKee and wife Charlene, of Essex, Maryland; brother Mark McKee and wife Darlene of, Dundalk,  Maryland; and sister Laura Cook and husband Charlie, of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania; niece Brittany Guido, of Nottingham, Maryland; Amanda Palmer and husband Alzono, of Hawthorn, Maryland; Kristen McKee of Dundalk, Maryland; and daughter-in-law to  Dolores “Sis” Nowowieski. She was sister-in-law to Dana Fischer and Donna Billings. Val was “nana” to Nicolette and Brianna McKee, and Riley Lynch. Valerie was “Aunt Val” to her great-nieces and nephews, Shane Whittaker, Scott Whittaker, Brooke Edwards, Bella Palmer, and Kaylee McKee. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Gene and Grace Compton, Angella Hendricks, nephew Josh Guido, her aunt, Joan Compton, and cousin, Brenda Compton.
Viewing and funeral services will be conducted at Bruzdzinski Funeral Home, P.A., 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex, Maryland 21221 with Pastor Chris Gudmundsson officiating. The family will receive friends at Bruzdzinski Funeral Home  Monday, August 13, 2012 from 11:00AM - 1:00PM. The funeral service will follow the viewing beginning at 1:00PM. Interment following at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
